Ken Strain’s BoomRight Masterclass followed by Chris Howland’s Panel Discussion on Production Sound.

About the event:

Ken Strain will be teaching his BoomRight Masterclass where he will share his techniques and overall approach to the performance art of Microphone Boom Operating. Ken Strain has been a boom operator in Hollywood California since 1993. He has worked on numerous television series including “House MD” and “Lost”, as well as feature films like “Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang”, “Trial of the Chicago Seven”, and “Identity”. He has developed a unique style of working that helps boom operators become pain-free and masterful. Since 2017 he has been sharing his techniques with the world, teaching across the US and Europe to the next generation of sound people. His first Masterclass is the top selling course on VideoMantis.

Following Ken’s presentation will be a short intermission.

Next will be a Panel Discussion on Production Sound moderated by Chris Howland CAS the found of the LA Sound Mixers. A group that is dedicated to the mentorship and education of film sound professionals.
